NEW YORK, NY – July 12  –Jeter Publishing is pleased to announce the publication of THE STUFF: Unlock Your Power to Overcome Challenges, Soar, and Succeed by New York Times bestselling author Sampson Davis, M.D. and Sharlee Jeter, it was announced today by Louise Burke, President of the Gallery Books Group.

Over the past decade, Sharlee Jeter and Dr. Sampson Davis have studied the psychologies and coping mechanisms of a range of individuals who’ve faced tremendous risks and dangers, along with those who have overcome overwhelming odds, to understand what these people have in common.   In doing so, Jeter and Davis have identified what they call THE STUFF: A cultivatable inner fortitude used by people to overcome obstacles, soar, and succeed.  Everyone has this fortitude but only some people are able to harness it and thrive.

In THE STUFF, Davis and Jeter highlight 11 core elements that allow individuals not only to survive, but to flourish in the face of extraordinarily challenging circumstances.   The book features men and women who have THE STUFF – athletes, entrepreneurs, parents, and others – and whose stories will inspire readers to realize that no matter how difficult their lives may be, they can employ the core practices found in the book to find hope, happiness, and fulfillment.

Dr. Sampson Davis is an emergency room physician, public speaker, philanthropist and New York Times bestselling author of THE PACT.    He is one of the founders of The Three Doctors Foundation, a non-profit organization that offers free public programs focused on health education, leadership, and mentoring.  Dr. Davis received the Essence Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000.  He is the youngest physician to receive the National Medical Association’s highest honor, the Scroll of Merit, and was honored at the 2009 BET Awards.   He has co-authored several bestselling books including THE PACT and LIVING AND DYING IN BRICK CITY.  Sharlee Jeter is the president of the Turn 2 Foundation, which was established by her brother, Derek Jeter.
