Simon & Schuster Reports Week 1 Sales for Bob Woodward’s Fear: Trump in the White House
NEW YORK, September 18 —Simon & Schuster announced today that Bob Woodward’s FEAR: Trump in the White House has sold a total of more than 1,100,000 through its first week on sale. The combined sales figure includes pre-orders, sales of print books, ebooks, and audiobooks in both compact disk and digital formats, as well as orders from consumers that are as yet unfulfilled due to extraordinary demand. These first week sales for FEAR were the largest for any title in Simon & Schuster company history. The publisher has ordered a 10th printing of the book that when complete will bring the number of hardcover copies in print to more than 1,200,000.
“There is only one word to describe the sales of FEAR—and that word is huge,” said Jonathan Karp, President and Publisher of Simon & Schuster. “What’s especially gratifying is the appreciation readers and reviewers have for the integrity and importance of Bob Woodward’s reporting.”
In addition, Simon & Schuster announced a revised figure of 900,000 copies in all formats for the first day of sales for FEAR. The discrepancy is attributable to delayed reporting of the ebook and digital audio editions.
FEAR: Trump in the White House is an international bestseller, and is also published by Simon & Schuster in Australia, Canada, India and the United Kingdom. Rights have been sold to 24 countries to date.
