Allen Lindstrom Named Chief Financial Officer Of Simon & Schuster

NEW YORK, April 4, 2024–Simon & Schuster, a global leader in general interest publishing, today announced that Allen Lindstrom has been named Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. The announcement was made by Jonathan Karp, President and CEO of Simon & Schuster.

Mr. Lindstrom, who will also be a member of Simon & Schuster’s Executive Committee, comes to Simon & Schuster after sixteen years at Barnes & Noble, the past eleven of which as Chief Financial Officer, under both public and private ownership.

“Allen is an experienced manager with a keen financial mind and a collaborative spirit,” said Jonathan Karp. “As Simon & Schuster grows, Allen will work alongside Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer Dennis Eulau and me to determine the best ways to invest in our company, control costs, and analyze acquisition prospects. We will benefit from his vast understanding of bookselling and the book business. Prior to his years at B&N, Mr. Lindstrom served as Chief Financial Officer of Liberty Travel. He has also held financial roles at the Museum Company, Toys “R” Us and Adidas AG after starting his career in public accounting.

Mr. Lindstrom is a graduate of Rutgers Business School, a Certified Public Accountant, and a longtime native resident of New Jersey, where he lives with his wife and family. He begins work at Simon & Schuster on April 22.
