Actress and Comedienne Ellie Kemper to be Published by Scribner
NEW YORK, July 7, 2016—Scribner announced that it will publish a collection of humorous essays from Ellie Kemper, star of the hit Netflix series “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and of NBC’s “The Office.” To be published in 2018, the yet-to-be-titled book of personal essays will feature stories from Ellie Kemper’s life, from growing up in St. Louis to her career in Hollywood.

In addition to her current performance on “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” for which she received a SAG Award nomination, Ellie Kemper portrayed the character ‘Erin Hannon’ on the last five seasons of NBC’s “The Office.” Kemper first gained attention with her one-woman show, “Feeling Sad/Mad,” at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. She co-starred in “Bridesmaids” (Universal) and has also appeared in “21 Jump Street” (Sony), “Identity Thief” (Universal), “They Came Together” (Lionsgate), and “Somewhere” (Focus Features). Ellie Kemper voices ‘Katie’ in the eagerly anticipated upcoming Universal/Illumination animated feature “The Secret Life of Pets” and is the voice of ‘Crackle’ on Disney’s “Sofia the First.” She has written for The Onion, McSweeney’s, GQ, Esquire, and Seventeen.
Shannon Welch, who will edit the book, acquired North American and audio rights from William Morris Endeavor. Ellie Kemper is represented by WME, Mosaic, and Hansen, Jacobon, Teller, Hoberman.
