Gallery Books Announces New Graphic Books Line, GALLERY 13

Gallery 13NEW YORK, July 18, 2016—Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, today announced the creation of GALLERY 13, a graphic books line within the imprint. Gallery 13 will present to readers the highest quality of visual storytelling, championing the graphic novel format as a mainstream medium of art, literature, and commercial entertainment. Gallery 13 will publish both fiction and nonfiction works (both original content and adaptations from books or other mediums) that will inspire, challenge, and expand the readers’ experience. The first three books from Gallery 13 will be published in 2017, with more titles to be announced.

ROUGHNECK by Jeff Lemire, is an original graphic novel from the New York Times bestselling and award-winning writer/artist of acclaimed works such as Essex County and Sweet Tooth, as well as flagship titles for Marvel and DC Comics. ROUGHNECK chronicles a brother and sister coming together to break the cycle of abuse and violence that has cursed their family. It is scheduled for publication in April 2017.

ALONE by Chabouté is a French bestseller by the acclaimed writer/artist who has been has been translated into more than 30 languages. His most celebrated work, it showcases Chabouté’s powerful visual storytelling as he examines the life of a lighthouse keeper learning about the outside world though the only tool available to him: his dictionary. ALONE is scheduled for publication in May 2017.

CREEPSHOW by Stephen King and Bernie Wrightson is a re-issue of the 1982 adaptation of the cult classic horror anthology film written by Stephen King and directed by George Romero. Now finally back in print, CREEPSHOW is scheduled for publication in July 2017.
