Perminder Mann named the new Chief Executive Officer of Simon & Schuster International
NEW YORK and LONDON, February 18, 2025—Simon & Schuster CEO Jonathan Karp announced today that Perminder Mann will become the new Chief Executive Officer of Simon & Schuster International, effective May 1, 2025. She succeeds Ian Chapman, who will be leaving the company at the end of May.
Perminder, who will also be a member of the Simon & Schuster Executive Board, will report to CEO Jonathan Karp. She will lead Simon & Schuster UK and oversee Simon & Schuster Australia, led by Managing Director Dan Ruffino, and Simon & Schuster India, to be led by Sanjiv Gupta. Both Dan Ruffino and Sanjiv Gupta will report to Perminder Mann.
She joins Simon & Schuster from Bonnier Books UK, where she has been CEO since 2017.

Perminder began her publishing career in the sales departments of Macmillan and Transworld and later established UK satellite offices for international children’s publishers Hinkler and Phidal before spending time in the toy industry. She serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for Arts Emergency, an award-winning mentoring charity and support network, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. She currently serves as an Honorary Visiting Professor at City, University of London, and is the current President of the Publishers Association in the UK, representing the industry to the UK government and internationally.
