Simon & Schuster & Likewise Team Up to Help Readers Find Their Next Book

Will Celebrate Collaboration with Exclusive Live Event

NEW YORK, August 4 – Simon & Schuster is partnering with Likewise, an entertainment discovery platform dedicated to matching consumers to their next favorite book, show, movie, or podcast. The free-to-use app tailors personalized media recommendations to each of its five million users, looking across media and sourcing recommendations from machine learning, smart technology, and its active Likewise community.

In the age of an abundance of content, consumers often have trouble deciding what can’t-miss type of entertainment to turn to next, or even where to look to find their next book to read, show or movie to watch, or podcast to listen to. Simon & Schuster’s partnership with Likewise will boost cross-platform engagement and discovery for consumers, allowing the storied publisher to connect directly with readers and help them decide what book to read next.

Simon & Schuster is the first publisher to partner with Likewise, which has earned more than five million registered users. Book Club Favorites, the first Simon & Schuster community on the platform, launched quietly in June 2022 and already serves nearly fifty thousand followers on the platform. The group focuses on book club, romance, and thriller content, and in its role as host of the community, Simon & Schuster provides exclusive content to Likewise users, including book recommendation lists, audio excerpts, pre-publication reading, and discussion questions.

The Book Club Favorites group will also host one exclusive author event per month on Likewise. This event partnership will kick off on Tuesday, August 9, at 7:00pm Eastern, when New York Times bestselling author Megan Miranda will appear in conversation about her newest title, The Last to Vanish, for members of the group. This is a live, audio-only event open to all Likewise users who are members of the Book Club Favorites Community. Registered Likewise users who are not yet members can request to join in the Books Community tab within the app. Likewise is available for free download from Apple’s App Store and Google Play.

Looking forward, Simon & Schuster plans to host Likewise groups focused on a variety of categories and genres, drawing from its robust catalog of books for all readers.
