Simon & Schuster to Publish Official Clinton/Kaine Campaign Book
New York, NY, August 3, 2016―Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine’s official campaign book, Stronger Together, will be published on Tuesday, September 6. It was announced today by Clinton’s long-time publisher, Simon & Schuster.
Stronger Together will present Hillary Clinton’s idea that America succeeds when we work together to solve our problems and when everyone shares in the rewards. The book will explore the solutions she has laid out from the beginning of her presidential campaign in April 2015, up to and including her appearance at the Democratic National Convention on July 28. The book will also include introductions by Hillary Clinton and her Vice Presidential running mate Tim Kaine.
In her nomination speech, Hillary Clinton spoke passionately about her policy proposals because she believes that is how we can make a difference in people’s lives. Clinton said, “It’s true…I sweat the details of policy – whether we’re talking about the exact level of lead in the drinking water in Flint, Michigan, the number of mental health facilities in Iowa, or the cost of your prescription drugs. Because it’s not just a detail if it’s your kid – if it’s your family. It’s a big deal. And it should be a big deal to your president.” Stronger Together gives the American people the chance to dig into the details of Clinton and Kaine’s proposals to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top; keep our country safe; and break down the barriers that hold Americans back.
“For the past 15 months, Hillary Clinton has laid out solutions for a wide range of issues affecting the American people. This publication gives voters the opportunity to get deeper into those ideas and the stories of everyday people that have influenced those ideas,” said Jonathan Karp, publisher of Simon & Schuster, which has published all five of Secretary Clinton’s previous books. Among those books are Hard Choices, her memoir about her years as Secretary of State; Living History, her memoir about her eight years as First Lady, and It Takes a Village, all of which were #1 New York Times bestsellers.
Stronger Together follows in the tradition of other presidential campaign agenda books, including Putting People First by Bill Clinton and Al Gore in 1992 and Change We Can Believe In: Barack Obama’s Plan to Renew America’s Promise in 2008.
The Clinton/Kaine campaign was represented by Secretary Clinton’s long-time literary attorney, Robert B. Barnett of Williams & Connolly.
