Simon & Schuster Reports Week 1 Sales for Bob Woodward’s Rage

NEW YORK, September 23 —Simon & Schuster announced today that Bob Woodward’s RAGE has sold 600,000 copies across all formats through the first week on sale in the U.S. The combined sales figure includes pre-orders, sales of print books, ebooks, audiobooks, and e-audiobooks. The publisher has ordered a 4th printing of the book that when complete will bring the number of hardcover copies in print to 1.3 million. These sales put RAGE on a trajectory to be the best-selling work of investigative journalism published in 2020.

RAGE is published by Simon & Schuster in Australia, Canada, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Foreign rights have been sold in six countries so far.

Woodward’s previous book on the Trump administration, FEAR, published in 2018, has sold 2 million copies across all formats to date.

Jonathan Karp, Chief Executive Officer of Simon & Schuster, says, “RAGE offers an unparalleled look at the President as he dealt with the coronavirus response, economic devastation, the Black Lives Matter movement, national security crises, and other great issues of the time. This is a view that no one but Bob Woodward could get—with 18 on-the-record interviews with President Trump—and offers both a wide angle of the country at large and an up-close examination of the inner workings of the White House and this President.”

Bob Woodward is an associate editor at The Washington Post where he has worked for 49 years and reported on every American president from Nixon to Trump. He has shared in two Pulitzer Prizes, first for the Post’s coverage of the Watergate scandal with Carl Bernstein, and second more than 20 years later as the lead Post reporter for coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He is the bestselling author of 13 #1 bestsellers, and RAGE is his 20th book. Visit him at www.BobWoodward.com.
