Erin Simpson Named Director of the Simon & Schuster Speakers Bureau

NEW YORK, February 27—Erin Simpson has been named Director of the Simon & Schuster Speakers Bureau, it was announced today by Jonathan Karp, President of Simon & Schuster Adult Publishing. Ms. Simpson, who is already in place at Simon & Schuster, reports to Brian Belfiglio, Vice President and Publicity Director of Scribner.

Erin Simpson joins the Simon & Schuster Speakers Bureau from the Penguin Random House Speakers Bureau, where she has most recently served as Agent Director. Since joining Penguin Random House in 2014, Erin has handled speaking engagements for bestselling and in-demand authors across the Penguin Publishing Group’s imprints, including Ron Chernow, Celeste Ng, Phil Klay, Meg Wolitzer, and Delia Owens. Prior to joining Penguin Random House, she worked at the HarperCollins Speakers Bureau and The Business Journals, a division of Advance Publications.

Erin Simpson’s appointment is coincident with Simon & Schuster, Inc.’s transition of its speakers bureau into an in-house venture, serving all of Simon & Schuster’s adult and children’s publishing groups and imprints, effective April 1. Founded in 2008, the Simon & Schuster Speakers Bureau has since delivered hundreds of author events to audiences worldwide. From Pulitzer Prize winners to number one-bestsellers, from popular children’s book authors to groundbreaking journalists, the Simon & Schuster Speakers Bureau represents an extraordinary range of sought-after voices who, along with future writers, will now be served by a dedicated in-house staff.  Prior to this, the bureau had been operated by Greater Talent Network on behalf of Simon & Schuster.

“We thank Don Epstein and his outstanding team at Greater Talent for their work on behalf of our author speakers and in establishing the bureau as an ongoing service,” said Jonathan Karp.  “With Erin Simpson’s appointment, we look forward to providing in-house support for our roster of popular speakers.”
